QIGONG
moving meditation
WITH MARK HASWELL
Every Tuesday Evening | 6:00 - 7:15 pm
You know that feeling after a long day when your body is tired but your mind will not stop? When you're carrying more than you can name and you just need somewhere to put it down?
That's exactly what Tuesday nights are for.
Qigong (pronounced Chee-GONG) is a traditional Chinese medicine practice of slow, intentional movement, conscious breathing, and quiet, focused awareness. You may have seen it practiced in a park — those gentle, flowing, unhurried movements that look almost like a conversation between the body and the air around it. That is Qigong. And it's one of the most effective and enjoyable practices for your body, mind and spirit.
what happens in class
No experience necessary. No flexibility required. No special equipment. No complicated sequences of movements to memorize.
The class is open to all levels — complete beginners are not just welcome; they're exactly who this class is designed for. You'll move through simple, flowing sequences that gently awaken the body, calm the nervous system, and guide your awareness inward.
The focus is on cultivating qi — your life force energy — allowing it to move freely through the body rather than getting stuck in the places where stress and tension tend to live.
Most people walk in feeling wound up. They leave feeling like something quietly, deeply shifted.
why qigong, why now
In a world that rewards doing more, moving faster, and pushing harder — Qigong is a quiet act of resistance. It teaches your body that slowness is not weakness. That stillness is not emptiness. That the most powerful thing you can do sometimes is simply breathe, move gently, and pay attention.
The benefits build over time — improved balance, flexibility, and circulation; reduced stress and anxiety; a clearer, calmer mind. But most students tell us the thing that keeps them coming back is simpler than any of that. It just feels good to be there.
Every Tuesday · 6:00 – 7:15 PM
Doors open 15 minutes before class. All levels welcome.
